Once received by Priory Medical Centre, you will be sent a questionnaire to complete for our nurses to review & confirm which vaccinations are required. Please complete the questionnaire ASAP to enable us to review.

At this point, the nurse will arrange an appointment for you to come in and have the necessary vaccinations.

Cervical Screening Clinic - Smear Test

At Priory Medical Centre, we are proud to support the NHS Cervical Screening Programme, a vital public health initiative designed to help prevent cervical cancer and save lives.

What is Cervical Screening?

Cervical screening (also known as a smear test) is a free NHS test offered to women and people with a cervix between the ages of 25 and 64. It’s not a test for cancer, but rather a test to help prevent it by detecting changes in the cells of the cervix which could, if left untreated, potentially develop into cancer.

  • Ages 25 to 49 are invited every 3 years

  • Ages 50 to 64 are invited every 5 years

If you’re eligible, you’ll receive a letter from the NHS inviting you to book an appointment, or a text message / email message inviting you to book an appointment.

Why is it Important?

Cervical screening saves around 5,000 lives every year in the UK. It is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself from cervical cancer. The test detects human papillomavirus (HPV), a common virus that can cause changes to the cervical cells. If HPV is found, further checks can be carried out to monitor or treat any abnormal cells early — often before cancer has a chance to develop.

What Happens at the Appointment?

The appointment is quick, usually taking no more than 10 minutes. A specially trained nurse will take a sample of cells from your cervix using a small, soft brush. While it might feel a little uncomfortable, it shouldn’t be painful, and the benefits far outweigh any brief discomfort.

Further information about the test cna be found here – https://priorymed.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cervical-Screening-info-leaflet-June-2025.pdf

Workwell Project

Workwell Project

Led by our team of Social Prescribers, the Workwell project is a DWP funded project across Coventry & Warwickshire looking at providing early intervention to those have health barriers to employment and who may require additional support. This is a light touch, non clinical service where our Social Prescribers will initially discuss the project with the patient and then refer the patient into the dedicated service for further support.

In the support, the patient will have a Dedicated ‘Journey Guide’,whooffers coaching advice, helps understand and unblock health barriers to employment, provides a hollistic assessment & personalised care plan and then connects the patient to local services & support mechanisms.

The outcome of attending this support is hopefully returning too or moving into employment/training.
