Learning Disability Friendly Practice

Learningdisabilityfriendlypracticelogo Priory Medical Centre Accredited as a Learning Disability Friendly Practice

We are delighted to announce that Priory Medical Centre has been officially awarded and accredited as a Learning Disability Friendly Practice by NHS Coventry & Warwickshire Integrated Care Board.

Following a panel review on 25th July 2025, our application was approved, and we have now been granted the Learning Disability Friendly Badge. This means Priory Medical Centre is formally recognised for the work we do to make healthcare more accessible, supportive, and inclusive for people with a learning disability.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has validated and approved this accreditation, which will positively support future inspections of our services. Accreditation is valid for five years, with a commitment to ongoing staff training and development midway through this period to ensure we continue delivering the highest standard of care.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our team in creating a welcoming, understanding, and patient-centred environment. From making reasonable adjustments, to improving communication, to ensuring annual health checks and tailored support, we are committed to helping patients with a learning disability live healthier and happier lives.

We are proud to be listed on the Integrated Care Board website as an accredited practice: Learning Disability Friendly Badge – Happy Healthy Lives

A big thank you to our patients, carers, and staff who have contributed to this achievement. Together, we will continue to ensure healthcare is inclusive, accessible, and compassionate for everyone.
